کلید کنترل فشار که معمولاً آن را مانوستات (MASTAT) مینامند ، دارای دو وظیفة مهم می*باشد. اول محافظت از اجزاء سیستم در برابر خرابی های ناشی از تغییرات فشار و دوم کنترل تغییرات فشار کندانسور. این سوییچ به سه نوع اصلی تقیسم می*شود :الف ـ کلید کنترل فشار پایین ب ـ کلید کنترل فشار بالاپ ـ کلید کنترل فشار سه مرحلهالف – این کلید معمولاً روی رسیورـ درایر و در قسمت بالایی آن که اتصالات ورودی و خروجی قرار دارند نصب شده و مجهز به دوترمینال است که از یک طرف به کلاچ برقی و از طرف دیگر به ترموستات وصل می*شود.نحوة کارکرد کلید فشار پایین بسیار ساده است. درداخل این کلید یک سیلندر یا یک دیافراگم قرار دارد که در صورت حس کردن فشاری کمتر از مقدار تنظیم شده ، مدار الکتریکی را قطع می*کند. باید توجه داشت که در صورت کاهش فشار بر اثر وجود نشت در سیستم ، کمپرسور توسط این کنترل از مدار خارج می*شود تا از بروز آسیبهای احتمالی جلوگیری بعمل آید.کلید فشاری که به این صورت عمل می*کند ، عموماً ازنوع معمولاً بسته (normally closed) می*باشد.ب – این کلید در اغلب مواقع روی رسیورـ درایر نصب می*شود و دقیقاً عکس کلید فشار پایین عمل می*کند. اما همانند کلید فشار پایین در مدار الکتریکی قرار می*گیرد.در حقیقت کلید فشار بالا ، مدار الکتریکی مرتبط با خود را در صورتی که فشار اعمال شده روی سیلندر و یا دیافراگم آن ، بیشتر از مقدار تنظیم شدة روی فنر (معمولاً 27 bar تا 32 bar) باشد قطع می*کند. بدین ترتیب اگر فشارسیستم افزایش پیدا کند کارکرد کمپرسور متوقف شده و از صدمه دیدن کمپرسور و یا ترکیدن شلنگها و یا سایر اجزاء جلوگیری بعمل می*آید . کلید کنترل فشار بالا نیز از نوع معمولاً بسته (normally closed) می*باشد.پ – در خودروهایی که در آنها از فن الکتریکی برای خنک کردن موتور استفاده می*شد و یا در حالتهایی که جریان هوای عبوری از کندانسور زیاد است از این کلید فشار استفاده می*کنند.این نوع کلید فشار نیز بر روی مسیر و لوله گاز فشار بالا نصب می*شود و به همان صورت که قبلاً گفته شد عمل می*کند و دارای چهار ترمینال برقی می*باشند.وظایف یک کلید فشار سه وضعیتی عبارت است از :ـ کنترل فشار پایین ـ کنترل فشار بالا ـ کنترل کارکرد فن الکتریکی کندانسور عملکرد دو مورد اول به همان صورت می*باشد.سومین خصوصیت این کلید باعث می*شود که فن کندانسور تنها در مواقع نیاز و زمانی که شرایط سیستم ایجاب می*کند وارد مدار شود. کنترل فن الکتریکی توسط دو سطح فشار تنظیم شده انجام می*شود.زمانیکه فشار رانش به سطحی بالاتر از فشار ماکزیمم رسید فن الکتریکی وارد مدار شده و یا فن در دور دوم شروع به کار میکند (در صورتی که فن دو دور باشد) و پس از آنکه فشار از به مقدار تنظیم شده رسید ، فن کندانسور از مدار خارج می*شود. کارکرد پیوسته فن الکتریکی سبب افزایش توان مصرفی ، صدا و کاهش طول عمر فن می*شود. مقادیر تنظیم شده روی کلید فشار سه حالته که بستگی به وظیفه این قطعه داردبه ترتیب عبارت است از :
ـ کلید فشار پایین در فشار 2.5 bar مدار کلاچ کمپرسور را قطع میکند.ـ کلید فشار بالا در فشار 27 bar تا 32 bar مدار کلاچ کمپرسور را قطع میکند.ـ فن الکتریکی کندانسور حدوداً در فشار 16 bar وارد مدار شده و در 12 barاز مدار خارج میشود.​
